ALIGNMENT

Alignment is not so much about your swing but rather how to hit the ball where you want it to go.  Even a perfect golf swing will not acheive your goal if you have poor alignment.  This is particularly true with putting but it applies to all aspects of your game.

There are a number of ways you can align yourself to your target.  The video below is particularly useful in establishing good habits that will ensure proper alignment.  It is incorrect to think that your body should point directly at the target. Rather, your feet, hips, and shoulders should be pointed just left of your target line so that the swing plane of the golf club is aimed at the target.  The video below provides excellent insights into establishing proper alignment as well as providing some drills to help you develop proper habits.
